TiniFiber Appoints CEO: People in the News: 9/11/24

ENGLEWOOD, Colo., Sept. 11, 2024 — Lightwave Logic, Inc., a developer of electro-optic polymers for data communications, has appointed Thomas M. Connelly Jr. to its board of directors. Connelly previously served as CEO of the American Chemical Society and as chief innovation officer at DuPont. His addition is expected to aid Lightwave in expanding its initial business focus from datacenters and AI clusters connectivity to include other markets, such as materials, organics, quantum/optical computing, aerospace, defense, and storage.

LINDENHURST, N.Y. — Manufacturer of optical cabling solutions TiniFiber has added Tom Artinian as CEO, effective immediately. Christian Peterson, TiniFiber’s founder and outgoing CEO, will transition to chairman of the board while Tom Brown, who has served as the interim president since May, will be promoted to senior vice president of business development and sales. Artinian has 30 years of experience within the fiber optics and cabling industries, most recently serving as COO and president at Hitachi Metals’ Wire and Cable division.

VICTOR, N.Y. — New Scale Technologies, a micro motion and automation systems company, has made internal promotions to expand its leadership. Stefan Friedrich has been promoted from director of marketing to vice president of sales and marketing. Qin Xu will transition from vice president of engineering to CTO and Michael DiRisio is being promoted from program manager to engineering manager. The company said that the moves were made in support of its next stage of product development and growth.

PAIGNTON, ENGLAND — Nanodevice developer Nanusens has appointed Tom Hanley as its vice president of MEMS engineering. Hanley has over twelve years of experience in MEMS having previously worked for Sofant Technologies and Cirrus Logic in senior MEMS engineering roles.

OAK RIDGE, Tenn. — LIS Technologies, Inc., a laser uranium enrichment company, has added John M. Paxton Jr. as its executive chair of military and defense. Paxton Jr. is a retired U.S. Marine Corps general and 33rd assistant commandant of the Marine Corps. Paxton has served in command staff assignments, including as Commanding General of the 1st Marine Division and successively as Commander of Marine Forces in Africa and Europe. Throughout his 42-year career, Paxton has earned awards and decorations including the Defense Distinguished Service Medal, Defense Superior Service Medal, and the Legion of Merit.
