NAPERVILLE, Ill., Nov. 1 -- Tellabs Inc. said it will provide optical equipment to Sprint Corp. for use in network expansion into Europe and Asia, and to boost the quality of its US network.
Tellabs networking equipment will be used by Sprint to support private line services and local access in European and Asian cities including Amsterdam, Brussels, Copenhagen, Dublin, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Hong Kong, Milan, Munich, Paris, Singapore, Stockholm, Sydney and Tokyo. In the US, Tellabs said its voice and voice-band data echo cancellation equipment will allow Sprint to cut costs.
