HELSINKI, Finland, March 13 -- Sonera has opened the first dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) broadband network from Moscow to St.Petersburg and further through Finland to western Europe.
"By exploiting the new DWDM-based system, we aim to implement an international broadband network which supports voice and data services and is utilized as a gateway between services and networks," said Tuomo Kokkila, senior vice president of Sonera Carrier Networks Ltd.
