SPIE Names 2023 Fellows Class

SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics, has named the 83 fellows that make up the organization’s class of 2023. Fellows are members of SPIE who have made significant scientific and technical contributions in the multidisciplinary fields of optics, photonics, and imaging. SPIE has honored more than 1700 fellows since its inception in 1955, including 58 fellows in 2022.

The 2023 inductees represent Australia, Belgium, China, France, Japan, Mexico, India, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, the U.K., the U.S., and New Zealand. According to SPIE, 35% of the new fellows come from the industry sector.

New fellows are acknowledged during SPIE symposia throughout the year. The complete list of the 2023 SPIE fellows is available online.
