Zeiss Profits Up 52% in First Half of Year

Carl Zeiss AG ended the first six months of its fiscal year with earnings before interest and taxes of € 166 million ($227 million), up 52 percent from € 109 million in the first half of last year. The optics and optoelectrics firm’s revenues, meanwhile, were € 2.074 billion ($2.842 billion), up nearly 5 percent from € 1.978 billion in last year’s first half.
