Zecotek Photonics Inc. announced that the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Fermilab) in Illinois has contracted with it to develop a custom micropixel avalanche photodiode (MAPD) based on its existing MAPD-3 design. The new units are required to meet specifications for the European Organization for Nuclear Research’s (CERN) compact muon solenoid Hadron Calorimeter Phase 1 upgrade. The MAPDs will be developed and delivered through the company’s Singapore-based wholly owned subsidiary, Zecotek Imaging Systems Pte. Ltd.
