SA Photonics promoted Mustafa Veziroglu to vice president and general manager of its Communications and Sensing (C&S) division in April. Formerly acting as the vice president of corporate business operations, Veziroglu is now running all C&S programs with product ranges including free space optical (FSO) communications, fiber lasers, and optical sensors. Veziroglu will report to company president and CEO, Jim Coward, former head of the C&S division, thereby allowing the executive team to provide a stronger focus on continued company growth and product development. Within his new role, Veziroglu will spearhead SA Photonics’ commercialization efforts for its array of patented technologies in fiber lasers and optical communications. Veziroglu received his electrical engineering degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and MBA from Santa Clara University. He has been with SA Photonics for two years. Previously, he held executive level positions for over 15 years at Xilinx and Lattice Semi, where he successfully grew company revenue, profitability, and market share. SA Photonics is a developer of photonics solutions for military and commercial applications with particular expertise in optical communications, laser-based sensors, and vision systems, including augmented- and virtual-reality head-mounted displays.
