AUCKLAND, New Zealand — Quantifi Photonics USA appointed Kees Propstra vice president of marketing and general manager. Propstra has more than 20 years of experience in product management and technology marketing, including roles at JDS Uniphase, Optun, and Tektronix, and, most recently, executive roles at MultiLane. ORLANDO, Fla. — Photonics technology company Violet Defense Group restructured its leadership team to manage its two subsidiaries, Violet Defense, an ultraviolet disinfection technology company founded in 2012, and Violet Gro, an indoor agricultural lighting company founded in 2018. Bruce Mosley was promoted to president of the Violet Defense business line. Mosley joined Violet Defense Group as chief revenue officer this year. Elaine Gibbons, who has been providing strategic consulting to Violet Defense Group, was named president of Violet Gro. Jessica Jones was promoted to vice president of client experience. SUNNYVALE, Calif. — NTT Research named Takashi Goto head of its technology promotion team, a group set up to productize well-developed research concepts. Goto was previously a director in the NTT R&D planning department, and before that a senior manager and senior research engineer at the NTT Information Network Laboratory Group. He joined NTT Research in July, succeeding Kei Karasawa, who has taken an executive position at NTT R&D in Tokyo. Goto will join the executive team at NTT Research. He will be responsible for exploring the market potential for technologies under development at NTT Research, as well as NTT R&D. FREMONT, Calif. — Catherine Lego will retire from the board of directors of Lam Research Group, effective Nov. 7. Lego has served on the board for more than 16 years, during which she was a chair or member of the nominating and governance committee, the audit committee, and the compensation and human resources committee. For more than 30 years, Lego has been a member of a range of boards in the semiconductor and technology industry, including current positions on Cirrus Logic Inc. and Guidewire Software Inc. Previously, she was on the board of directors of Cypress Semiconductor Corp., Fairchild Semiconductor, IPG Photonics, JDS Uniphase, SanDisk Corp., and others.
