EPIC Adds Shahida Imani to Board: People in the News: 04/05/23

HELSINKI, April 5, 2023 — During its Annual General Meeting 2023, the European Photonics Industry Consortium (EPIC) confirmed the selection of Shahida Imani, CEO of Chromacity, to its board of directors. Imani is a chartered management accountant and has worked for a number of high-tech companies including Optos, Voxar, and Odos Imaging. Additionally, the consortium named Håkan Karlsson as the recipient of the EPIC CEO Award 2023. Karlsson is head of the photonics division at HÜBNER Group and CEO of Cobolt. EPIC also recognized Kestutis Jasiunas, chairman of the board of EKSPLA, with the EPIC Lifetime Achievement Award for his leadership in the laser industry.

PREMSTAETTEN, Austria — Ams OSRAM named Rainer Irle as CFO. Irle has been CFO of Siltronic AG, a manufacturer of hyper-pure silicon wafers for the semiconductor industry, since 2013. He has held a variety of finance and executive management roles within Siltronic and Wacker Chemie AG.

SYMONSTON, Australia — Electro Optic Systems Holdings (EOS) founder Ben Greene resigned from the company’s board of directors. Greene served as CEO of the company until July 2022 and will remain with the company as head of innovation. 

MIDDLEFIELD, Conn. — Zygo appointed Jennifer Hellberg division vice president, business unit manager. Hellberg most recently served as vice president and general manager at Thermo Fisher Scientific. Prior to Thermo Fisher, she worked in engineering, operations, and supply chain at Procter & Gamble. 

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — ADTRAN Holdings CFO Mike Foliano will retire from the company after 17 years, effective June 28. He will be succeeded by Uli Dopfer, who starts with the company May 1. Dopfer previously served as CFO of ADVA Optical Networking.

PARIS — Measurement technology company Tektronix appointed Philippe Pichot to be vice president of EMEAI sales (Europe, Middle East, Africa, and India). Pichot previously served in leadership positions in sales and marketing at Future Electronics and Texas Instruments.

BALTIMORE — Pixelligent Technologies named Sam Livingston senior vice president of manufacturing and operations. Livingston’s previous experience includes Kerr-McGee Chemical Corp., LyondellBasell, Millennium Inorganic Chemicals, TriWest, and Tronox.

LINCOLNSHIRE, Ill. — Zebra Technologies Corp. appointed Joe White chief product and solutions officer. White fills the vacancy left by Bill Burns, who now serves as CEO. Since joining the company in 2014, White served as senior vice president and general manager of Zebra’s Enterprise Mobile Computing business. Previously, White held executive positions at Symbol, Matrics, RFID Global Solutions, CAIS Internet, and Digex.

BALTIMORE — EMIT Imaging, a developer of cryo-fluorescence tomography imaging and related hardware, software, and data science methods, appointed Matthew Silva CEO. Silva previously served as CEO of Invicro LLC, an imaging contract research organization and subsidiary of REALM IDx/Konica Minolta.

TUCSON, Ariz. — Directed energy company Applied Energetics named Keeley Hurley project manager and Kris Davalos and Iraj Ziapour laser and optics R&D technicians.

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. — Cleaning and coating technology company MicroCare named Rebecca Mahoney senior quality control chemist. Prior to MicroCare, Mahoney held analytical and quality control positions at Pfizer, Thor Specialties, and Invicro.

LEESBURG, Va. — Quantum Computing Inc. appointed Lewis Shepherd to its technical advisory board. Shepherd is senior director of research and emerging technologies strategies at VMware. He also serves on the Technological Advisory Council of the Federal Communications Commission, and as chair of the Intelligence Committee of AFCEA International, a global 30,000-member professional association dedicated to defense and intelligence professionals.
