Specialty Optical Fiber Consumption to Reach $4.38 Billion by 2010

SAN MATEO, Calif., Nov. 28 -- The worldwide use of some types of specialty optical fiber in communication products will grow from $239 million in 2000 to $4.38 billion by 2010, according to a new market study from ElectroniCast Corp. The study includes separate forecasts for erbium-doped fiber, high-index fiber, polarization maintaining fiber, photosensitive fiber and flouride and other types, along with the price per meter/kilometer and the major application for each fiber type.
