Rapid customer growth in the Asia market has spurred fiber laser designer and manufacturer SPI Lasers to expand its Asia facilities by adding combined office and laboratory space in Seoul, the company said. It also plans to open a new office in China. "Asia is a significant market for the fiber laser industry, and SPI [is] fully aware of its importance. Strengthening the team, facilities and presence in this region are all part of our Asia strategic development plan," said SPI Lasers CEO David Parker. SPI is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Trumpf Group and designs and manufactures optical fiber-based lasers for use in materials processing applications. "John joins SPI's Asia team at an exciting time, where fiber lasers are fast becoming more prevalent in marking, cutting and welding," Parker said. "In order to react to these demands, the new office in Korea and planned new office in China will focus on customer services, applications and marketing." SPI’s new office is in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul. For more information, visit: www.spilasers.com, www.spilasers.cn or www.spilasers.kr
