BINGHAMTON, N.Y., Dec. 1 -- Semiconductor Laser International Corp. (SLI) has signed a contract with Telcordia Technologies Inc., a company that focuses on helping customers evolve from the current to the next generation of communications technologies. The agreement will provide SLI's 915- and 980-nm laser diode pump modules with qualification in the telecommunications marketplace. Telcordia's generic reliability assurance requirements for optoelectronic devices used in telecommunications equipment guarantees that a laser product meets a quality standard for performance. Once SLI has met these generic requirements, Telcordia will submit a qualification report on behalf of the company, which will be available to SLI's customers.
