Recycleye, an English startup company developing a computer vision system capable of detecting and classifying items in waste streams, has secured £1.2 million in seed funding. The funding was led by venture capital investors MMC Ventures and the London Waste and Recycling Board, with participation from leading funds, Atypical Ventures, eolos GmbH, and Creator Fund. Recycleye also received grants from Innovate UK and the European Union. Waste items detected by the company's technology are broken down by material, object, and brand. They are then sorted with robotic components.
