ATLANTA, June 6 -- RSoft announced, at Supercomm 2001 in Atlanta, Ga., that it was awarded a two-year, $750,000 Navy Phase II Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contract to develop advanced simulation tools for high-performance fiber optic communications systems and networks. The Navy will use the tool for analysis and design of components and systems including Gigabit Ethernet and 10-Gb Ethernet applications. "We are honored that the Navy has chosen RSoft's simulation software to help them design the most advanced networks " said LuAnn Scarmozzino, president of RSoft. "Our LinkSIM product already enables optimization of optical communication links, but we will be enhancing it to include sophisticated multimode simulations and critical analysis tools for maximum yield and performance." RSoft is headquartered in Ossining, N.Y., where it develops and sells CAD and simulation software for the photonics industry at the device level (BeamPROP, FullWAVE, LaserMOD) and link level (LinkSIM).
