OAK RIDGE, Tenn., Sept. 28, 2018 — Qrypt Inc. has exclusively licensed a novel cybersecurity technology from the U.S. Department of Energy's Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), promising a stronger defense against cyberattacks, including those posed by quantum computing. Qrypt will incorporate ORNL’s quantum random number generator into the company’s existing encryption platform, using inherent quantum randomness to create unique and unpredictable encryption keys enabling virtually impenetrable communications. The advent of quantum computing offers a fundamentally new approach to solving some of the...Read full article

    quantum
The term quantum refers to the fundamental unit or discrete amount of a physical quantity involved in interactions at the atomic and subatomic scales. It originates from quantum theory, a branch of physics that emerged in the early 20th century to explain phenomena observed on very small scales, where classical physics fails to provide accurate explanations.
