MESA, Ariz., Sept. 10 -- Photronics Inc. reports that it will house its Arizona-based photomask manufacturing operations in a new 30,000-square-foot facility in Phoenix Industrial Park. The facility will include 10,000 square feet of clean room space to accommodate the photomask manufacturing systems and allow for future expansion. The company expects to complete the move to the new space in the early spring of 2000.At present, Photronics operates from a 24,000-square-foot photomask manufacturing facility on Motorola Inc.'s campus in Mesa, Ariz. Motorola divested its captive photomask manufacturing operation to Photronics in December 1997. The terms of this transaction included a provision for the move to an independent facility and a multiple-year supply agreement. Photronics will transfer manufacturing systems in production at the Mesa site to the Phoenix location once the new clean rooms have been qualified.
