Rob Randelman, PhD, has been promoted to president of Ocean Optics, a Dunedin, Fla., spectroscopy and photonic instruments manufacturer. He succeeds Mike Morris, who founded the company and is now its vice chairman. Randelman joined Ocean Optics in 2006 as vice president of sales and marketing and directed the establishment of its sales and service facility in Shanghai, China. Previously, he directed the services division at Verifone, an electronic-payment technology company, and has held management positions at Hewlett Packard and Exxon. He earned doctorate and master's degrees in engineering and chemical engineering from Lehigh University and undergraduate physics and chemistry degrees from Ursinus College (Collegeville, Pa.).
