Dunedin, Fla.-based Ocean Optics, a spectroscopy and photonic instruments manufacturer, announced today it has established operations in Europe to serve customers throughout Western and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Known as Ocean Optics EMEA, the regional operation is based in Ostfildern, Germany, to support the company’s offices in Germany, the Netherlands, the UK and France. “Continental Europe has been a solid and growing market for us in the past and this is another step to provide a better, more consistent experience to our customers in this important market," said Ocean Optics President Rob Randelman. “Additionally, we have the unique opportunity to provide an increased level of service, distribution and OEM capabilities to our customers throughout the region, especially in high-growth markets such as Eastern Europe, Africa, and the Mideast -- that is EMEA team's key goal.” The Ocean Optics EMEA staff includes: Gerald Nitsch, general manager; Dieter Steck, senior director of operations; and Marco Snikkers, commercial director.
