Mark Boxer, applications engineering manager of OFS, received the Photon Award from the Fiber Broadband Association (FBA) for his dedication to advancing the fiber broadband industry in the past year. OFS officials said Boxer has been a key contributor and ghost writer for multiple publications authored by the FBA’s Technology committee, including “Why Fiber for MDUs,” “The Road to 5G is Paved with Fiber,” and “Limitations of Satellite Broadband to serve rural America.” Boxer also created the Fiber Broadband Starter Kit, which helps draw new interest in fiber broadband. The kit is a guide to the industry that details fiber's impact on the economy and its importance for our connected future. Boxer has presented the information from the kit at the start of each annual conference for the past eight years. Two organizations also received awards from the FBA for advancing the fiber broadband industry: ALLO Communications and Sonic Networks.
