Rochester Precision Optics promoted Mike Davenport to company president, effective Sept. 21. Davenport previously served as RPO’s vice president of operations. The promotion follows the announcement that Randy Shaw, who had served as company president, is retiring in December. Shaw will serve as a senior adviser to the president to ensure a smooth transition before retiring. Davenport’s role as vice president of operations involved direct leadership over the majority of RPO’s workforce and spearheading the introduction of new and advanced manufacturing methods. Prior to joining RPO, Davenport worked with Shaw and RPO’s ownership in a variety of leadership capacities at organizations such as Insight Technology (now L3Harris).
