Philippe Lugherini was appointed chief executive officer of CILAS, a subsidiary of EADS and AREVA. Since 2005, Lugherini has been the CEO of Nuclétudes, a subsidiary of EADS Astrium Space Transportation. He will continue in this position until the end of 2010. He began his career with the Missiles and Space Directorate at the Délégation Générale pour l’Armement, where he was in charge of the space component for the military HELIOS-1 satellite program. Prior to his appointment, he served as director of space activities at Sodern, a subsidiary of EADS. CILAS develops, manufactures and markets products and systems for civil and military defense and security, scientific laser programs and industrial instrumentation.
