DENVER, May 9 -- Liteye Systems and IBM Corp. have entered a license agreement for lightweight, high-resolution head-mounted displays that Liteye plans to manufacture for computer applications. IBM's proprietary technologies will be combined with Liteye's high-resolution display capabilities. The result will be a sleeker, smaller and lightweight headset. Liteye head-mounted display units can be attached to flight helmets, combat helmets and hardhats in addition to wearable computers. They can display everything from a computer screen to infrared video images.Read full articleRelated content from Photonics MediaArticlesAir-Leak Detection System Visualizes Building DraftsResearchers at the Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) have created a detection system that allows home energy auditors to see air leaking from a building in real time...Photonics Spectra November 2023 IssueLED Applications Require Exposure Limits to Safeguard ConsumersMany products, including some that are indispensable to modern society, experience widespread adoption before consequential health and safety risks emerge.
