GOTTINGEN, Germany, July 12 - Lambda Physik AG announced that it has put a new production plant for industrial UV laser technology into operation at its site in Gottingen, Germany. The new building ensures sufficient capacities for the next two to three years. The expansion was necessary to meet the growing demand for Lambda products in lithography and industrial applications. The startup of this new facility marks the completion of the first phase of the company's ongoing expansion of production capacities. Lambda Physik has already moved its entire production of lithography lasers to the new 3155 m2 plant. "With 29 laser testing stations for the engineering, assembly, and final testing of our lithography lasers, we are equipped with sufficient capacities for the next two to three years," said Dr. Manfred Rahe, Lambda's chief technology officer. The second phase of expansion calls for 18 more laser testing stations for engineering, assembly, and final testing on the second floor of the new production center. Operations will begin there in October of this year.
