TOKYO, March 29 – Japan Telecom Co Ltd and NTT Communications Corp plan to jointly lay fiber optic cables between Japan and South Korea. Kyushu Electric Power Co. Inc. and Korea Telecom have also agreed to participate in the project, which will cost an estimated $32.6 million. The cables are expected to be in place by the end of March 2002.
