Innovative Photonic Solutions (IPS) of Monmouth Junction, N.J., has been selected to provide an ultrastable, tunable laser system for integration into a high-performance terahertz spectrometer. The technology enables the creation of stable, single-frequency lasers that don’t require temperature or drive control electronics to prevent drifting. Long coherence length and narrow spectral linewidth enable high-resolution spectroscopy applications. The fully integrated spectrometer will allow researchers to obtain spectral characteristics in the terahertz band for a variety of materials. The device is being developed by the US government.
