Additive manufacturing systems developer Optomec has appointed Jamie Hanson as vice president of business development. “Jamie has a truly unique background as a commercial executive in both the machine tool and semiconductor equipment markets, each of which is crucial to Optomec’s growth strategy,” Dave Ramahi, CEO of Optomec. “I am confident that he will contribute significantly to our continued success.” Hanson was previously the chief operating office at Methods 3D, where he initiated activities in 3D printing. For the past 10 years, he was also the director of corporate development at Methods Machine Tools. Prior to that, Hanson was at Applied Materials for 17 years, where he was director of Eastern Regional Account Operations. He is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and a former Airborne Ranger. “I am thrilled to be joining Optomec, particularly at this inflection point, where additive manufacturing is being adopted into production processes,” Hanson said. “Optomec technology is uniquely positioned to take advantage of this opportunity, and I am excited in my role to help our customers implement this technology to make a difference in their business.”
