Giallorenzi Joins OSA as Senior Director of Science Policy

Thomas G. Giallorenzi, PhD, has been named senior director of science policy for OSA. He will provide strategic direction on the society’s scientific programming and activities, in particular conventions and meetings. Giallorenzi is an OSA Fellow and has provided volunteer support for committees involved in meetings, publications and awards and has had responsibilities on OFC and CLEO/QELS steering committees. Among other volunteer positions, he had an integral part in both the R.W. Wood Prize and John Tyndall Award selection committees and was a member of the OSA editorial board.
