TEMPE, Ariz., June 19 -- Three-Five Systems Inc., Advanced Digital Optics (ADO), ColorLink and Cogent Light plan to develop an optics engine for use in monitors and televisions for incorporation into low-cost PC-Ready display systems for home use. The microdisplay-based engine will incorporate 0.5" XGA resolution (1024 x 768) Brillian Microdisplays provided by Three-Five Systems. The optics will be designed and built by ADO. The color management system will be the ColorQuad from ColorLink and Cogent Light will provide the illumination system. "In offering a PC-Ready engine utilizing our new Brillian 0.5" XGA Microdisplay, we believe we can offer our customers a design that can be integrated into their systems very quickly, offer substantial savings over other display solutions, and give consumers the high-quality image they demand for television and PC applications," said Joe Riccio, director of strategic programs/microdisplays for Three-Five.
