New England BioLabs Inc., a supplier of enzymes for molecular biology applications, has released its “2007-08 Catalog & Technical Reference,” which details nucleic acids, protein tools, competent cells, RNAi and RNA enzymes, and technologies for polymerases and amplification, DNA modifying enzymes and cloning, and gene expression and protein purification. Among the new products in the 400-page publication are restriction endonucleases, including 11 new enzymes, the K. lactis protein expression kit and a selection of TransPass transfection reagents. A line of products for epigenetics research, including histones, methyltransferases, DNA substrates and antibodies, also is included. An appendix includes restriction maps and an activity chart for restriction enzymes.
