EU Consortium to Prevent Quantum Cyberattacks

BRUSSELS, Feb. 25, 2020 — Scientists at the EU’s €1 billion Quantum Technology (QT) Flagship initiative have developed quantum encryption protocols to create what they’re calling the most secure transmission of sensitive information through the internet. The QT Flagship is supporting four consortia: The CiViQ (continuous variable quantum communications) consortium has developed QKD (quantum key distribution) protocols to secure digital information; researchers at QRANGE have created quantum random number generators (QRNGs) that can be implemented in such protocols; UNIQORN scientists are...Read full article

    system-on-chip
A system-on-chip (SoC) is an integrated circuit (IC) that incorporates all necessary components of a computer or electronic system onto a single chip. This typically includes a microprocessor or microcontroller, memory, input/output interfaces, timing sources, and sometimes even analog components. SoCs are designed to provide a complete and compact solution for various applications, ranging from mobile devices and consumer electronics to embedded systems and networking equipment. Features...
