Dalsa Corp. of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, will supply high-performance CCD image sensor chips to Intergraph Mapping and Geospatial Solutions of Madison, Ala., under a 15-month, $2.2 million contract. Intergraph will use the chips in its Z/I DMC digital mapping camera, a large-format aerial system incorporating multiple chips that allow it to capture detailed imagery. The company sells the camera to photogrammetry organizations for planning, engineering, surveying and mapping. The aerial photographs and other remote sensing imagery are used to measure surface features on Earth.The Canadian company also has received a 15-month, $1.6 million order from a manufacturer of semiconductor wafer inspection systems to develop high-performance digital cameras that will be used to inspect wafers at extremely high speeds and low light levels.
