Controp Precision Technologies Ltd. said it will supply 90 of its advanced Shapo systems for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization’s (NATO) army patrol vehicles. Shapo is an ultralightweight, gyro-stabilized electro-optical (EO), IR day/night observation system designed for flexible EO payload deployment on multimission patrol vehicles. The system delivers the benefits of a built-in thermal imaging camera in one package with a continuous zoom lens, advanced image enhancement, automatic target tracker and picture-in-picture. Shapo offers a range of communication interfaces to host platform including RS-422, ARINC 429 and MIL-STD-1553. Its operating control unit has been ruggedized to survive the harshest environmental conditions, the company said.
