Collaboration Results in Eye-Safe Microlaser

Quantum Group Inc. of San Diego has announced an eye-safe microlaser that can be used in rangefinders for up to 2 km. The US Army's CECOM RDEC Night Vision and Electronic Sensors Directorate in Fort Belvoir, Va., had originally developed the technology. The objective involved making a laser using eye-safe technology under a directorate program, with Quantum working under the Science Applications International Corp. contract with the US Army.Read full article
