Bruker Corp. acquired Inscopix Inc., a developer of miniaturized microscopes known as miniscopes, for freely moving animal brain imaging. ORLANDO, Fla. — LightPath Technologies’ BD6/black diamond infrared glass material passed radiation testing and is qualified for use as a replacement for germanium in space applications, according to the company. Testing of LightPath’s BD6 as part of a European Space Agency (ESA) was performed in parallel to efforts by the U.S. Department of Defense, European defense agencies, and others to reduce their dependence on germanium by qualifying an alternative. The tests performed simulated the radiation that the material would be exposed to during ESA missions, including gamma and proton tests. LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Windstream Wholesale, a provider of advanced optical solutions, reported its delivery of low-latency, ultrahigh bandwidth wave connectivity from the U.S to Europe through a strategic partnership with Colt and Aqua Comms. The connectivity, which originated in Chicago, traveled to London, and terminated in Frankfurt, Germany, yielded roundtrip latency of less than 100 ms with no frame loss. It used Aqua Comms’ subsea fiber optic network and connected Windstream’s U.S. network to Colt’s European wavelength network. The investment includes an option for Satellogic to expand its ownership to up to 12% in the next 36 months, and the appointment of Emiliano Kargieman, CEO and co-founder of Satellogic, to the OS board of directors. HAMBURG, Germany — Fielmann Group’s venture and investment arm entered into an agreement to acquire a 10% equity stake in Deep Optics, a deep tech company and developer in the electro-optics space. Fielmann Ventures is leading a series C investment in Deep Optics, enabling the adaptive glasses company to further develop its groundbreaking technology. Deep Optics uses pixelated liquid crystal lenses to adjust the focal distance of glasses to any distance. CHARLOTTE, N.C. — EnPro Industries completed the sale of GGB, its surface engineering business, to the Timken Co. for total proceeds of $305 million. Enpro also expects to complete the divestiture of its Garlock Pipeline Technologies business later this month, at which point it will have completed the exit of its engineered materials segment. SUNNYVALE, Calif. — Staff of the NYSE began proceedings to delist the common stock of Quanergy Systems, as well as the company’s warrants to purchase common stock. Trading in these securities was suspended after the market’s close on Nov. 8. According to the NYSE Regulation, it reached its decision to delist these securities because Quanergy fell below the NYSE’s continued listing standard requiring listed companies to maintain an average global market capitalization over a consecutive 30 trading day period of at least $15 million. The company’s common stock and warrants are now traded in the over the counter (OTC) market. Quanergy intends to apply to have the common stock quoted on the OTCQB, a higher market tier operated by the OTC Markets Group Inc. The company may also apply to have the warrants quoted on the OTCQB, if eligible. PARIS — Quantum photonics company Quandela and energy company EDF signed a partnership agreement to study the contribution of photonic computing to numerical simulations of hydroelectric dam deformation. The use of this breakthrough could increase the accuracy of the simulations and speed up calculations while reducing their energy consumption. In the longer term, the ambition is to generalize the simulation models to other types of industrial applications and to extend photonic calculation to machine learning used in consumption forecasting.
