A military customer has awarded a two-year, $2.6 million contract to Advanced Photonix Inc. of Ann Arbor, Mich. Under the terms of the agreement, the company will supply photodetector assemblies used in the guidance systems of tube-launched, optically tracked, wire-guided missile platforms. Gunners direct missiles from the weapons — mounted on tripods or on land or air vehicles — by keeping the crosshairs of the sight centered on the desired target until it is hit.
