QuiX Quantum Appoints CTO, Chief Scientist: People in the News: 01/25/23

ENSCHEDE, Netherlands, Jan. 25, 2023 — QuiX Quantum appointed Devin Smith CTO, as co-founder and former CTO Jelmer Renema steps into the role of chief scientist. Smith joined QuiX Quantum in 2021 serving as a senior quantum engineer leading the company’s quantum science team. In addition to his role at QuiX Quantum, Renema serves as assistant professor of quantum optics at the University of Twente in the Netherlands.

GLASGOW, Scotland — Materials technology company III-V Epi appointed Neil Gerrard as director of epitaxy. Gerrard has over 30 years of experience, having served in a variety of roles, from technical marketing director at AXITRON UK Ltd. to engineering lead in startups KUBOS and Optical Reference Systems. Neil helped set up and run the wafer fab at Nortel Networks, a multibillion dollar company. He also helped introduce the MOCVD facility at Sivers.

DUBLIN, Calif. — AEye promoted T.R. Ramachandran to principal operating officer. Ramachandran joined the company in November 2021 as chief product officer, and he was appointed COO in December 2022. Ramachandran served as executive vice president of marketing and chief marketing officer at Cepton between 2010 and 2021 and as vice president of product management at Velodyne Lidar from 2017 to 2019.

Beecher has over 35 years of technology industry experience and formerly served as vice president, treasurer, CFO, and chief accounting officer of Teradyne. In addition, Thomas Seifert will resign as company director, effective immediately.

BOULDER, Colo. — LongPath Technologies, which uses long-range frequency comb laser sources to provide scalable continuous monitoring of methane gas emissions, appointed Sam Cummings executive vice president for strategy and CFO, and Joe Quoyeser senior vice president and chief commercial officer.
