Mauro Premutico has joined Universal Display Corp. as vice president, legal and general manager of patents and licensing. In his new role, Premutico will manage the company’s patents portfolio, which includes licensing rights to more than 1400 issued and pending patents worldwide for its organic LED (OLED) technologies, materials and processes. Previously, he was managing vice president and chief patent counsel at Walt Disney Co., where he managed the patent legal and corporate technology licensing teams for all of its companies, served as negotiator on patent and technology licensing matters, and developed teams that monetized Disney’s patent assets. He also has held positions at Lenovo Group Holdings, Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton, and Symbol Technologies. “Mauro will lead our strategic initiatives to manage, defend and further enhance our intellectual property,” said Steven V.
