SANTA CLARA, Calif., August 14 -- PowerComm Corp., a broadband service provider in Korea, has expanded its all-Ethernet metro network with Riverstone's RS metro routers. This is in addition to the RS metro routers PowerComm deployed in January.
"PowerComm is the leader in deploying Ethernet in the metro to deliver services to its customers," said Andrew Feldman, Riverstone's vice president of corporate marketing and development. "They are building one of the largest metro Ethernet networks in the world and require a comprehensive solution. Riverstone's routers deliver the scalability and metro-optimized technology that allows PowerComm to deliver revenue-generating services over an extraordinarily reliable network."
PowerComm now uses Riverstone's RS 38000 and RS 3000 routers to provide metro services in 64 districts throughout Korea. PowerComm implemented Riverstone's rapid ring spanning tree protocol (RRSTP) resiliency technology.
