CAMBRIDGE, UK, Nov. 23 -- Polatis said it is restructuring and will focus on the low-loss, modular all-optical switch market and discontinue marketing its Bragg grating products. As part of the restructuring, Elmo Perera has resigned as COO. Andrew Dames, founder of Polatis, will step down as CEO and become research director, and Gary Vanstone, chairman will take over the duties of CEO until a new CEO is recruited.
Vanstone said, "Given the industry's current climate, it is imperative that our resources are suitably focused on clearly identified market requirements. Our sub 1 dB all-optical switch technology allows our customers to realize highly flexible and dynamic networks. We are presented with a great opportunity and we are pulling out all the stops to ensure that we achieve it."
