MAYNARD, Mass., Jan. 15 -- PhotonEx Corp., provider of 40 Gb/s and faster network-wide smart photonic systems, announced it has founded the 40G Collaborative SM, a business alliance committed to the commercialization of deployable 40 Gb/s solutions in the core public services network.
Each member of the collaborative is a pioneer in 40 Gb/s enabling technologies, including optical components and modules, erbium-doped fiber and Raman amplifiers, next-generation optical fiber, and novel radio frequency (RF) and dispersion compensation technologies. In addition to driving 40 Gb/s economics, the 40G Collaborative will foster education about 40 Gb/s technology and the advances required to make 40 Gb/s systems a widely deployed reality.
Charter members in the 40G Collaborative include the following leading technology companies: Corning Inc., Filtronic plc, JDS Uniphase Corp., Lightwave Microsystems Corp., Microwave Concepts Inc., New Focus Inc., Onetta Inc. and Optigain Inc.
