Paul Morris has joined Gooch & Housego PLC, a London-based maker of optoelectronic components, as sales director. He was formerly employed at Bookham and was previously director of European sales director for Nortel's optical components division, which Bookham acquired in 2003. Morris, who has a physics degree from Aston University of Birmingham, England, will spearhead the development of a new global sales team and sales strategy for Gooch and Housego's five subsidiaries: NEOS Technologies and Cleveland Crystals in the US; Landwehr Electronics in Germany; Gooch & Housego and the recently acquired Sifam Fibre Optics in the UK. "Bringing the combined abilities of these specialists to an increasingly demanding world market will be Paul Morris’ main focus," the company said in a statement. Morris began his new position on July 9.
