Oplink Acquires Accumux Technologies

SAN JOSE, Calif., March 12 -- Oplink Communications Inc., a photonic Foundry and provider of optical networking components, has acquired Accumux Technologies Inc., a Camarillo, Calif., developer of optical components and subsystems for dense wavelength division multiplexing systems. Terms were not disclosed.

Oplink is based in San Jose with offshore facilities in Zhuhai, China. Joe Liu, president and CEO, said the aquisition expands the company's portfolio of leading-edge tunable dispersion compensation module technologies, and that it will continue to expand its photonic foundry capabilities to include a broader variety of subsystem and system-level hardware solutions "through the acquisitions of leading complementary transmission technologies."
