SANTA ROSA, Calif. -- Casix Inc., located in Fuzhou, China, was acquired by JDS Uniphase in May 2000 and is a wholly owned subsidiary. Casix's crystal, optical fabrication and coating expertise are now a part of Optical Coating Laboratory Inc. (OCLI), a JDS Uniphase-owned manufacturer of optical thin-film coatings and components used to manage light.
With these capabilities, OCLI now adds products such as crystals and waveplates to its broad offering of fabricated and coated precision optics. The Fuzhou manufacturing site will continue as part of OCLI's operations, offering industry-leading technical strength, a skilled work force and low-cost, high-volume assembly capabilities for sophisticated precision optics products.
