SAN JOSE, Calif., March 2 -- Nova Crystals Inc., a developer of laser components for fiber optic data/telecommunications applications, has secured facilities that will enable the high-volume production of long wavelength VCSELs for short-to-long haul, high-bandwidth telecommunications. The 40,000-sq-ft building, located in San Jose, will expand the company's production floor space fivefold. Additionally, the acquisition includes about $10 million in production equipment and additional engineering staff. "We're already experiencing tremendous demand for our proprietary VCSEL-based products," said Felix Ejeckam, CEO of the company. "This expansion will enable us to meet this rising demand."
