Northrop Grumman Names VP: People in the News: 02/01/23

FALLS CHURCH, Va., Feb. 1, 2023 — Northrop Grumman’s board of directors has elected Stephen O’Bryan as corporate vice president and global business development officer, effective Feb. 6. O’Bryan succeeds David Perry, who announced his intent to retire effective March 31. Perry will continue in his role until his retirement to support O’Bryan in his transition. O’Bryan joins the company from Boston Consulting Group. From 2018 to 2019, he served as senior vice president and chief global business development officer for L3Harris Technologies. O’Bryan worked for Lockheed Martin from 2004 to 2018.

BLACKWELL, England — Bytronic has named Iain Clowery as a technical manager. Clowery spent two decades working for Cognex where he helped develop deep learning camera software currently used by logistics companies. Bytronic has been a platinum-rated partner systems integrator for Cognex since 2014 and a logistics partner integrator since 2021.

SEATTLE — Noninvasive medical diagnostic technology company Know Labs has made changes to its executive leadership team. Founder and chairman Ron Erickson was selected as CEO by the company’s board of directors. Masanori King Takee was promoted to CTO, having joined the company in 2018. Jessica English was named as chief marketing officer, having previously served as vice president of brand at health wearable technology company Oura.

DURHAM, N.C. — Wolfspeed has appointed Stacy Smith to its board of directors. Smith serves as executive chairman of Kioxia Corp. (formerly Toshiba Memory Corp.) and nonexecutive chair of the board at Autodesk. Wolfspeed is a developer of silicon carbide and gallium nitride technologies.

BOZEMAN, Mont. — Cordell Maines has been appointed CEO of Quantel USA, a manufacturing site of LUMIBIRD Photonics Division. Maines most recently served as business leader for LUMIBIRD, guiding the company’s South, Central, and North American sales divisions. Cordell succeeds Steve Patterson, who announced his resignation from the company in September. Cordell’s appointment follows an extensive selection process by the company’s board.
