TORONTO, Oct 12 -- Nortel Networks Corp. has agreed to build a replacement network for Qwest Communications International Inc. using packet technology. Qwest will purchase packet-based gear from Nortel to replace its circuit-switched network in 14 states.
Nortel will supply Qwest with its carrier-grade softswitch technology, Succession Communication Server 2000, and trunking gateways.
