TORONTO, Dec 22 -- Nortel Networks Corp., an Internet and communications company, will supply GiantLoop Network with $50 million worth of networking equipment, including complete metropolitan dense wavelength division multiplexing access solutions.GiantLoop will purchase Nortel Networks' OPTera Metro 5200 multiservice platform to provide its business customers with services that include storage networking and managed wavelength services. GiantLoop builds and manages fiber optic networks that aggregate data and storage networking and storage networking protocols over campus, metropolitan, and inter-city networks.
