Dallas-based Lighting Science Group Corp., a designer of energy-efficient lighting solutions, has appointed Stephen A. Hamilton as chief financial officer, effective immediately. Before joining Lighting Science, Hamilton was a senior consultant at Grant Knauth LLP, a consulting firm. Hamilton replaces Michael N. Lavey, who resigned.    . . .    Irvine Sensors Corp. of Costa Mesa, Calif., announced that Joseph Carleone is joining the company as chief product officer and senior vice president. For the last five years, Carleone has been vice president of GenCorp, a technology-based manufacturing company in aerospace and defense, pharmaceutical fine chemical and automotive businesses, and president of Aerojet Fine Chemicals LLC, a business unit of GenCorp. Carleone has also served as a director of Irvine Sensors since March 2003 and resigned prior to assuming his new position. Irvine Sensors sells stacked chip assemblies and miniaturized cameras and conducts research and development related to high-density electronics, miniaturized sensors, optical interconnection technology, high-speed routers, image processing and integrated circuits for diverse systems applications.    . . .    Peter E. Salas has joined the board of directors of Southwall Technologies Inc., a global manufacturer of thin-film coatings for the electronic display, automotive glass and architectural markets with headquarters in Palo Alto, Calif. Salas has been president of Dolphin Asset Management Corp. and its related companies since he founded it in 1988.
