WESTFORD, Mass., Aug. 9 -- LightLab Imaging LLC and Lantis Laser Inc. have signed a licensing agreement on the use of Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) in dentistry. Under the terms of the agreement, Lantis will use LightLab's intellectual property portfolio for the life of the agreement in exchange for an undisclosed amount. LightLab's technology is based on OCT, which utilizes broad bandwidth light sources and fiber optics to achieve image resolution in the range of 10-12 µm. Optical Coherence Tomography and LightLab Imaging's fundamental technology was developed from research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Massachusetts General Hospital.
