LOS ANGELES, Aug. 3 -- The University of Southern California has received a gift of $110 million from the W.M. Keck Foundation, the largest gift ever contributed to a medical school. USC has committed to raising an additional $330 million in matching funds, and will name its medical school the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California. A sizable portion of the gift will be invested in the area of neurogenetics, with a special focus on degenerative brain diseases.
